Deep Tissue Massage falls in that category of massage which treats muscular-skeletal syndrome. This massage helps in restoring the length and flexibility to the fascia by stabilizing the tissue. It improves the strength and total health of the entire fascial system.
 
Deep Tissue Massage uses some of the techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure which is applied in it is more powerful. It is a more focused type of massage, as the practitioner focuses to relief prolonged muscle tension or knots which is also called as adhesions.
 
There are slower strokes in this massage but pressure is applied more so that the muscles can get the warmth and deeper layer of muscles are touched. It provides less relaxation and comfort then Swedish massage, but it doesn’t cause any pain. The patients are asked to express if the pressure gets too powerful.
During a session, our massage therapist will emphasis on discharging tension from the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia (or connective tissues) with deep, powerful strokes. When the therapist detects a chronic knot or adhesion, they recommend the client to adapt a total lifestyle change – which may consist of exercises to help improve posture, balance, movement, and relaxation.
